Tips: When a potato plant's leaves turn yellow, then it is time to haul up potatoes. Check for root rot and make sure the potatoes where below the surface and out of the sun before harvesting.

And... pick off the leaves if a fungus gets on them. During our second year it happened, I picked off the leaves, but it kept coming back so we had to harvest early.
