Ingredients:
3 Eggs
One cup of milk
A quart of a cup
of flour
Half a tablespoon
of sugar
A sprinkle of cinnamon
Half a teaspoon
of vanilla
Directions:
The first step is
to find a clean pan and place it on the stovetop.
Make the custard—
Get a bowl and
pour the flour into it. Press the flour into the shape of the bowl and then put
three egg yolks and whites into the center of it.
Sprinkle sugar on
top of the eggs.
Pour in the
vanilla, add the cinnamon and pour in the milk. Make sure the amount of milk is
equal to the number of eggs in the custard.
Once all the
ingredients are in the bowl stir them all together. It is very important to mix
everything very well. Take a few minutes to make sure the custard is well
mixed.
French toast can be eaten with maple syrup. This recipe can feed a whole family breakfast. My Online Journalism Blog/Melissa Wong |
Dipping the bread—
Dip the bread in
the custard, do not let the bread soak in the mixture.
Dip the bread on
both sides.
Frying the French bread—
Turn the stove on
high, once the pan gets hot then turn the temperature back to low.
Melt butter in the
pan.
Place the bread
slice dipped in the custard into the pan using a spatula.
After letting the
bread fry, turn the bread over in the pan using the spatula.
Once both sides
are cooked, put the bread on a plate.
Depending on how
many people you are cooking for, you can make as much French bread as you need.
The recipe will make plenty of French bread for the whole family.
Tip: Use stale
bread to make your French toast.
