It smelled good when it came out of the oven.

4. Cook ground beef in a skillet until it is well cooked.

5. Butter the bottom of a casserole dish.

6. Toast three slices of bread.

7. Cut the slice of bread in two and arrange them at the bottom to line the casserole dish.

8. Put meat mixture and halved tomatoes on top.

9. Add one cup of grated cheese on top of the tomatoes.

10. Crush a slice of toasted bread into crumbs and sprinkle over the casserole.

11. Create another layer of tomatoes and cheese.

12. Let the dish rest, create sauce, and preheat the oven.

13. Put the butter, and the flour in sauce pan over medium heat.

14. Make the sauce slowly, add milk to the butter and flour mixture. Mix the mixture until it has the consistency of gravy about 2-3 minutes.

15. Top casserole with extra cheese and pour sauce over it.

16. Bake the casserole without the lid at 350 for 30-40 minutes until the cheese is golden brown.

17. Remove from the oven. It will feed four people.

Tip: Green peppers can be removed from the recipes or can be substituted with the vegetables of your choice such as red or yellow peppers, peas, corns, carrots, mushrooms, onions, etc.
