2. Pour 2.5 cups of warm water on a peat pod.

3. Mix the peat into the water and drain some of the water out - if it is too wet.

4. Place the bulb in the peat pod mixture, tip facing up. Add the grow mix around the bulb and keep neck above the peat.

5. Do not add any water until the bulb starts to grow (or the peat drys out).

6. Keep the peat moist, but don't drown the flower. A few spoonfuls to keep the soil looking wet is enough.

7. Put the pot in a warm place with direct sunlight.

8. As the stem grows, change the direction of the plant keep the stem from leaning too far into the light. It might be necessary to support your plant.

9. Blooming usually happens 4-8 weeks after planting.

10. When the flowers bloom, keep them out of direct sunlight to prolong the flowering period.

Tip 1: Your amaryllis flowers will last longer when it is cut and put in a vase. The flowers can last three weeks when cared for and pruned.

Tip 2: Put water in a bottle and leave it near the plant. Once water is room temperature, use it to water the flowers. (Both should be the same temperature.)
