The first step is to find a clean pot and fill it with cold water.

Place it on your stovetop, turn on high and then wait for your water to come to a rapid boil.
Once the water is boiled, place the egg in the boiling water fully submerged. Let your egg boil, without the lid for five minutes. You can set your alarm to help you keep track of time.

In the meantime, fill a bowl with cold water (add ice if you want, but it is not a requirement).

After five minutes turn off the stove, move the pot aside and put the lid on the pot of boiling water. Leave the egg to boil for five more minutes.

Once completed, remove the egg from the pot. Place the egg in the bowl of cold water and leave it there for five more minutes.

When the time is up peel the egg by tapping each area of the egg's surface until you break the air pocket. Submerge the egg in the bowl of cold water and press down on the air pocket. Pull the egg's membrane away and try to make sure the water gets under it so that the peeling process will be easier.

Use the water to wash off smaller bits of the shell that have stuck to the egg.

Your boiled egg is ready to eat.

Tip: You can also eat a boiled egg by breaking off the top, placing it in a shot glass and then scooping out the boiled egg with a spoon.
